Lloyds Banking Group has announced another 330 job losses, on this occasion from its operations and wholesale functions, Unite has reported.
The trade union says the latest cull brings the total number of job losses since Lloyds TSB and HBOS merged to 22,000.
According to Unite national officer, David Flemming: “The union is demanding to know why when the new chief executive, António Horta-Osório, has ordered a strategic review of the entire business he is sanctioning this method of drip feeding job losses.”
The bank was in the news earlier this week when the Independent Commission on Banking’s interim report suggested that its divestment programme, which already involves 600 branches, could be extended.
