Barclays Corporate says it is fast tracking the development of its global trade finance offering with the appointment of Tan Kah Chye as head of trade and working capital.
Kah Chye joins from Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore where for the past six years he has held the position of global head of trade finance, latterly assuming responsibility for the bank’s global cash management operation, in addition.
Barclays Corporate is currently focused on trade finance as one of its key areas for revenue growth and in his new role, Kah Chye will focus on developing the group’s trade proposition in key EMEA markets, as well as expanding the business across Asia and in the US.
Commenting on his appointment, Kah Chye says: “I am confident that with Barclays’ geographical networks, team of trade professionals and client base that the next journey of the bank’s trade finance development will be an exciting one, particularly as the team exploits synergies between trade finance and its full suite of working capital solutions.”
